THE CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS EXPERTISE/EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING DOMAINS:

  • Proven leadership capability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction related technical/business field
  • 10+ years of related construction phase experience is required, with 5+ years of related project management experience on related projects
  • Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background.
  • Professional registration may also be required.
  • Must have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project.
  • Should be involved when required in the designs on the project.
  • Capability in scheduling using Primavera P6 and ongoing monitoring and driving of projects with well ordered and logical sequence;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications.
  • Strong eye for detail coupled with a methodical and organized approach;

  1. Pre-Construction Stage
  • Prepare Master Programme for the entire project calendar detailing inter-activity dependency, sequencing, and activity duration:

It includes identifying the order in which tasks should be completed (sequencing) and how they depend on each other (dependency).

Activity duration refers to estimating how long each task will take to complete.

  • Set-up project schedule development and track, monitor a design deliverable schedule:

  • Monitoring, tracking, and reporting progress of work:

  • Change/Variations order management:

    Maintaining and reviewing variations logs, and ensuring that the provided variations are justifiable should it be required for the project.

  • Ensure the correction of defects pointed out by the clients / architect/ consultant is implemented:

    Addressing and rectifying any defects or issues identified by clients, architects, or consultants during construction is crucial to delivering a project that is up to standard in terms of quality and cost.

    Up on the completion of activates / works, it must be inspected to ensure that the activity was completed as per the required result / quality.

  • Organize progress review meetings on a weekly basis:

    Regular progress review meetings provide a platform for project stakeholders to discuss the project’s status, address issues, and make decisions and keep everyone informed and aligned.

    Keeping track of project WBS, review any other points of concerns in based on the submitted daily/ weekly/ monthly reports.

  • Collect, review, and maintain all the records of contractors’ daily progress reports:

Daily progress reports from contractors contain valuable information about work completed, materials used, and any challenges faced.
Collecting and maintaining these records is essential for project documentation and dispute resolution if needed.

  1. Quality Management
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Establishing processes and standards to ensure work aligns with project specifications and then systematically inspecting and testing to confirm compliance.
  • Workmanship Standards: Inspecting the construction work to ensure it meets quality standards, identifying defects or deviations, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Contractor testing and Inspections: Overseeing that contractors conduct required tests and inspections to validate work quality, materials, and compliance with industry standard.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors contractor performance pertaining to schedule and conformance to plans and specifications.
  • Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
  • Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
  • May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
  • Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
  • Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
  • Provide advice on field engineering procedures, construction methods, and financial matters to management.
  • Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for assigned personnel.

  • Advises the client and company management of any such changes.
