YOUR OPPORTUNITY

CaSE are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Regional NSW project delivery team. We are looking for a talented, motivated and driven individual with a proactive approach to finding solutions who will be committed to delivering innovative, customer-focused and sustainable outcomes, working with construction contractors to safely deliver quality works, within program and budget.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved.
  • Develop and monitor implementation of construction methods including audits.
  • Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
  • Identify what Authorities are appropriate in obtaining approvals with specific project work and interrelationships between authorities.
  • Prepare Authority submissions and seek approval to fit within the project programme
  • Ensures site specific management plans are implemented.
  • Manages and monitors the progress of work and advises the Project Engineer of significant changes and proposed remedial action.
  • Forecasts the number of labour hours for scope of works and monitor daily costs against planned.
  • Ensures the construction related aspects of the project meet or exceed the required performance targets in relation to time, cost and quality.
  • Ensures that programme is communicated to subcontractors, suppliers and internal staff to maintain commitment.
  • Prepares, maintains and achieves detailed short-term target programs for designated work areas.
  • Reviews the subcontractor’s construction program(s) and assists in identifying critical areas and integrates these into the Project program.
  • Manages subcontractor and supplier performance.
  • Review and procurement of appropriate resources to fulfil programme requirements (plant, labour, materials and sub-contractor requirements)
  • Makes decisions and actions all correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Prepares Authority submissions and approval programme to fit within the project programme.
  • Prepares subcontract scopes tender review well ahead of program requirements.
  • Consult regularly with site team lead and monitor site team effectiveness/satisfaction.

    Experience and Qualifications:

  • Higher education Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management or similar is highly desirable.

  • A collaborative approach to work with demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Packages including Excel, Word and Project.
  • 10+ years in the industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
  • Experience across disciplines – this could be in areas such as earthworks, roads, bridges, structures/ concrete, underground services, TMPs/ROLs and construction staging
  • Experience on Tier 1 projects
  • Hands on experience gained within a contractor environment, client-side experience is also valuable
  • Proven engineering, project controls and contractual management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and IT communication skills for team collaboration
  • Great organisational and decision-making skills
