QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in Events, Marketing or related field.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience managing in person, online and hybrid events, including conferences and seminars, in a corporate environment, at both global and regional levels.
  • Experience in working with colleagues to develop event programmes and develop creative approaches to improving audience engagement and interaction.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong digital skills - ability to use digital platforms and tools, including event platforms.
  • Ability to work within a global and multicultural team at different levels as well as with external stakeholders

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

The Events manager is responsible for the management, planning and execution of Climate Bonds’ global events. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the role works closely with the commercial (Climate Services) team and is responsible for leveraging opportunities for partners and sponsors to engage with Climate Bonds events, while fostering key relationships with current and potential supporters and stakeholders.
The Events Manager is expected to deliver knowledge and expertise into the latest event trends and contribute to our innovation through implementing new ways of working to improve the global and regional events programme.
The Events Manager will develop and manage the Events Executive overseeing event delivery as well as providing support for regional events.
Representing Climate Bonds externally, this role requires the ability to liaise with high-profile stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, speakers, and external suppliers, whilst delivering a high level of client and team satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to proactively identify opportunities to build out the team’s plan of work in enhancing the growth and impact of the Climate Bonds global events programme.
  • Manage event planning and operations: Plan and project manage the global and regional events programme, including the Global Conference, Awards and Regional Key events both large-scale in-person and online, from conception to completion. Liaising with high-profile stakeholders globally, such as sponsors, speakers and guests, as well as contracting venues, caterers and other suppliers.
  • Collaborate and support the Climate Services team to strengthen events revenue generation, in line with commercial objectives. Support the development of robust pricing models for events and the development of events sponsorship packages and promotion.
  • Evaluate event opportunities globally and regionally, assess their cost and value, present recommendations, co-ordinate decision-making internally, and develop updated budgets and plans.
  • Research and analyse the marketplace, staying up to date on event delivery and technology trends, ensuring continuous improvement of the events programme.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop a marketing and communications plan for the events programme, optimising in-campaign to ensure effective implementation, ensuring alignment and working with the Head of Marketing.
  • Manage digital channel event delivery, including website and registration platforms.
  • Mobilise, coordinate and communicate effectively with global and regional colleagues across the organisation, event participants, and officials, on event planning and execution.
  • Manage the participation of Climate Bonds’ senior spokespeople at our own, as well as third-party, global and regional events.
  • Develop and maintain best practice guidelines for event execution, to influence and enable consistent quality across all events, globally and regionally.
  • Maintain budgets for events, ensuring cost-effective delivery and adherence to set budgets, highlighting potential risk or areas of concern including under and overspend to the Head of Marketing
  • Implement a standard monitoring and evaluation approach to report against agreed KPIs, measure ROI, report on learnings, and encourage a culture of continuous feedback; working with the Head of Marketing to identify and agree on KPIs and metrics to measure
  • Manage and coach the Events Executive, in a way that is consistent with Climate Bonds’ values
  • Support the Head of Marketing in the wider fulfilment of functional goals as needed.
