Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Telethon Kids Institute and the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) are working together to develop and implement a partnership agreement which aims to develop alignment in our approach to enabling high quality child health research and translation into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes by simplifying processes, reducing duplication, and increasing support and efficiencies.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to continue to develop a service model and partnership agreement that strengthens, streamlines, and supports collaborative research by fostering a collaborative approach to research service provision. The role will also include scoping and planning for the potential establishment and operation of a clinical trials unit, which will further improve the translation of research into practice. This partnership model will be informed by a highly effective Melbourne model, which was developed between The Royal Children’s Hospital and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

Typical duties in this role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Develop a governance framework and joint policy for the model, to guide collaborative research services teams in understanding their roles and responsibilities, to ensure efficient service provision and compliance with relevant organisational and National regulations.
  • In alignment with the proposed partnership agreement, develop and present business and financial modelling to understand ongoing resource and shared funding requirements.
  • Develop a target state design for the potential establishment of a clinical trials unit reflecting the market opportunity, operating model, funding model, and resourcing plan.
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management to engage stakeholders, in order to develop the partnership model and agreement.

Conveniently based at Perth Children’s Hospital, this role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis to suit the availability of the preferred applicant for a period of 12 months.
