Description:

Saunders Automation is a specialist electrical and control system engineering company that has extensive experience in the design, implementation and support of PLC, SCADA, DCS and RTU projects across multiple industries and geographical regions.
We are in the process of expanding our team in support of our strong pipeline of work and are actively seeking a Project Manager (Control Systems Engineering) to join our Sydney team.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing and delivering control systems integration projects. With a background in Engineering and proven experience in designing PLC & SCADA systems from conception to equipment selection/design, programming and commissioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high standard of communication skills verbally and where necessary in writing for customer enquiries and orders. Email acknowledgement within 24hrs and responses within 48hrs of acknowledgement, unless otherwise agreed with customer.
  • Maintain an understanding of the IMS procedures in alignment with the project life cycle.
  • Ensuring that all purchases are authorised and that purchasing and accounting procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that developed software code, electrical designs and hardware selection is in accordance with the project scope, customer (or Saunders where applicable) standards and industry best practise.
  • Inspect and test the performance of subcontractors in purchasing.
  • Ensure that system engineers working on each project are efficient and hours are monitored against the project budget.
  • Ensure that when inspection, measuring and test equipment is used, the requirements for calibration and maintenance are adhered to.
  • Ensure all project records of the department are indexed, filed and stored in a suitable environment.
  • Ensure that job and department records are suitably backed up to the network.
  • Ensure the records are controlled as per the IMS requirements.
  • Raise variations to the contract in accordance with the terms set out in the contract.
  • Raise progress claims to the customer.
  • Maximise the profit of the operation with due regard to safety, quality, and the Company’s reputation.
  • Prepare and present end of month forecasting and reporting.
  • Deliver each project in line with Saunders’ and the client’s quality standards.
  • Delivery each project on time, within budget
