Responsibilities:
The Project Manager – Design Delivery is a pivotal role responsible for providing health planning expertise for functional space planning on health facility projects, both locally and regionally. This role involves managing clinical engagement in the design process and implementing change management principles based on best practice research and guidelines. The Project Manager ensures achievement of project objectives and milestones, managing risk and quality control throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring smooth transition to business as usual, to enable realization of benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide health planning expertise on the full range of care services including preventative, outpatient, acute, post-acute, and rehabilitation healthcare facilities, following best practice research and guidelines.
- Manage clinical engagement in health facility design through effective planning and coordination of clinical user groups to achieve robust clinical input into design.
- Provide technical assistance in business case formation, project set-up, work plan development, and budgeting as requested and appropriate.
- Ensure all stakeholders (staff, unions, community, Manawhenua, and other relevant consumers) can input into system design consistent with the requirements of the project.
- Lead various groups to ensure that process design drives building design and development requirements.
- Liaise with the Programme Manager and Clinical Lead(s) on progress, issues, and barriers.
- Challenge the status quo and demonstrate effective problem-solving to achieve quality outcomes that support best practise and model of care delivery
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies for projects to ensure business continuity, minimizing clinical risk and adverse media.
- Identify, review, advise on the selection of vendors, sub-contractors, or consultants to meet project needs within Procurement policies and process.
