MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Environmental Science/Geology/Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety/Compliance/Sustainability or other related field.
• Minimum 8 years of proven technical experience.
• Experience in climate adaptation and resiliency planning
• ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification
• Experience in conducting ISO 14001 internal audits, staff training, compliance tracking, etc.
• Experience with the development, implementation and auditing of Environmental Management Systems
• Understanding of common industrial activities and the relation with environmental media and regulations (air, wastewater, etc.)
• Proficiency with Federal EPA & OSHA, Florida FDEP, Miami-Dade County DERM regulations.
• Experience in SWPPP and SPCC Plan Development
• Experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
• Knowledge and experience in Industrial Hygiene regulations (i.e. Asbestos, Lead, Indoor Air Quality)
• Experience managing project budgets, invoicing and collections.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Willingness to keep up with changing regulations, a desire to learn new things, and a commitment to continue to grow professionally.
• Ability to engage, inspire and motivate junior staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills among diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Florida Licensed Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer, or other relevant professional certifications (CHMM, CMIOSH, etc.) or ability for licensure with 1 year of start of employment.

• Lead a diverse portfolio of environmental health & safety, compliance, sustainability, due diligence, assessment and remediation projects.
• Complete ISO 14001 audits and design, implement and audit environmental management systems.
• Maintain responsibility for project-level financials and profit/loss.
• Write and review technical reports and proposals.
• Hire and manage subcontractors.
• Mentor and train junior staff and ensure quality work product.
• Ensure safe performance of project work.
• Source for new business opportunities and market yourself and Apex to prospective clients.
• Build relationships with existing client base while expanding existing projects and sourcing new projects.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and ongoing projects.
