Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

As a Project Manager within the Insurance Consulting Business Unit at EXL, you will be instrumental in supporting and managing projects within the insurance domain.
Your role will include leading and driving large scale projects, coordinating with global stakeholders and liaising with function heads and programme sponsors.
Your role will include overseeing the design and release of technology solutions. You will be involved in evaluating and selecting appropriate delivery approaches, developing business cases, defining project scopes, managing schedules, budgets, and resources, and ensuring quality assurance.
You will also handle risks, issues, and change requests, support benefits realisation, and coordinate with third-party suppliers. Effective stakeholder communication and governance management are essential aspects of this role.

AS PART OF YOUR DUTIES, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Supporting the design, build, and release of selected technology solutions.
  • Evaluating and selecting project delivery approaches based on solution requirements.
  • Assisting in the development of business cases, defining project scopes, and setting requirements.
  • Creating and managing project schedules and work packages.
  • Ensuring quality assurance to meet agreed requirements.
  • Planning and controlling project deliverables and updating project plans and timelines.
  • Managing project finance, budgets, and resources, including forecasts and actual vs planned comparisons.
  • Handling risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests.
  • Supporting benefits realisation and achievement of target business outcomes.
  • Coordinating with third-party suppliers and resources in line with contracts and SLA’s.
  • Assisting in the operational management of programme/project/work stream governance and adherence to best practices.
  • Regularly monitoring and updating key stakeholders on project progress.
  • Supporting the management of client-owned governance forums.
  • Setting up and participating in key working group meetings and other forums for effective programme information management.
  • Preparing materials for client governance forums and executive communications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WE CONSIDER TO BE ESSENTIAL FOR THE ROLE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably within a consulting or delivery environment.
  • Strong understanding of key insurance principles, such as underwriting, claims, and the Lloyd’s market, with an awareness of the changing insurance process landscape.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • Ability to travel as required.
