The Role
The Project Delivery Team are responsible for the delivery of numerous projects each year in a wide range of disciplines in the railway environment: Track, Catenary, Power Supply, Signalling, Civil and Building works, Automation and Telecoms. We are seeking experienced and highly motivated individuals to join our team at Folkestone, to be responsible for delivering track and tunnel projects on the UK Terminal, tracks, running and service tunnels.
Your experience in project management, maintenance works or development of technical systems will ensure that the safety and integrity of the Eurotunnel systems are maintained and developed.
Principal Accountabilities, Qualifications, and Experience
Carry out the mission to the highest safety standards in compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental legislation and standards, and more generally, apply Getlink/Eurotunnel policies and principles.
Applies Eurotunnel’s project management processes meeting the customer expectations in relation to quality and standards, on time and budget.
Applies the V Cycle project manager principle maintaining a neutral position as Project Manager in full consultation with competent engineers and the customer requirements.
Applies Common Safety Method (CSM) and Consultation Design Management Regulations (CDM) in the UK where required. Identifies and applies relevant legislative/standard requirements to any project as required.
Responsible for consulting with all stakeholders at each stage of the project and for maintaining the project documentation portfolio consistent with all project managers and aligned with the project management processes.
Study assigned project requests to define and evaluate technical solutions, analyse risks, estimate costs, and propose implementation methods. Analysing and evaluating technical proposals from companies and preparing contract award notices with the purchasing department. To be the main contact/point of entry for all matters related to its projects within the framework of the contract. Carrying out with the coordination/planning unit, the planning of interventions linked to the projects on the systems and equipment concerned.
Accountable for the monitoring and reporting to the employer, the safety, performance and behaviour of all contractors associated with the project, regular site visits, briefings, and safety walkabouts are mandatory.
Accountable for accurate cost and time forecasting supporting CAPEX management and impact on quality of service. Regular presentations to a variety of audiences detailing project progress are required.
University Degree, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Building, or Civils with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience as a Project Manager or Employer’s Agent.
A minimum of 3 years experience in a civil, industrial, or railway engineering environment leading or managing contractors.
Knowledge and experience in railway engineering and an operational environment are desirable.
A Project Manager qualification would be desirable.
Bi-lingual or a high level of English and French, both written and spoken would be a distinct advantage.
IOSH Managing Safely qualification desirable.
A full Driving Licence and Passport are essential.
