EXPERIENCE

Experience in the delivery of projects from inception to completion across multiple sectors will be considered beneficial with knowledge of VHBA process.

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Coordinate all phases of project execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Establish and maintain effective communication channels to provide regular updates, address concerns, and solicit feedback to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Team Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including construction managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and support staff. Provide clear direction, mentorship, and support to team members to foster collaboration, accountability, and a culture of excellence.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the negotiation, administration, and management of contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Ensure contract compliance, resolve disputes, and manage change orders to mitigate risks and optimize project outcomes.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Identify cost-saving opportunities, track project expenses, and implement effective strategies to manage costs within budgetary constraints.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure construction activities comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards governing healthcare and aged care facilities. (VHBA). Implement quality assurance processes, conduct inspections, and address non-compliance issues to maintain high standards of construction quality and safety.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, hazards, and obstacles that may impact project delivery or outcomes. Develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and proactive measures to minimize risks and ensure project success.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including meeting minutes, progress reports, change orders, and correspondence. Prepare regular project status reports for stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges.

SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in the Health and Aged Care sector project management.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including effective negotiation skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics.

Responsibilities:

As an experienced Project Manager within the Health and Aged Care sector in Victoria you will be familiar with VHBA projects and process and proven industry experience, including delivery of projects from inception to completion within the sector.
You will have the confidence to perform with minimal direction, excellent organisation skills and proven ability to lead projects with professionalism and true collaboration with others.
You will be the expert at juggling competing deadlines and using your supreme time management skills and ability to multitask to great effect in a fast-paced environment.
