ABOUT THE ROLE

Come and join our growing Project Team to help deliver Victoria’s largest ever health infrastructure project!
We are seeking an experienced technical ICT Project Manager to join our project team.
This senior position is responsible for leading the ICT project work for Western Health (WH) and the transition of ICT services from the old Footscray Hospital to the new Footscray Hospital (NFH). Works include the transition and relocation of critical enterprise health systems currently hosted from the server room (production and pre-production systems).

Role objectives include:

  • Provide project management and coordination skills in digital technology and ICT infrastructure domains for WH and the NFH Project.
  • Engage and build rapport with staff across WH to gain quality input into the NFH Project and the relocation of ICT services.
  • Use good judgement and a consultative approach to advise the Technology Lead, New Footscray Hospital Project and other WH teams on the transition of ICT services.
  • Collaborate extensively with Western Health’s Digital Technology Services (DTS) and Digital Health (DH) business units to chart a path toward occupation of the NFH.
  • Work in partnership with external NFH Project stakeholders including the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) and the Plenary Health consortium.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE INCLUDE

  • Use structured project management methodologies to drive, track and communicate project progress.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of WH systems and services hosted from the server rooms at both Footscray Hospital and Sunshine Hospital, its infrastructure, operating environments, and system portfolio.
  • Lead the gathering of input for the development of the transition plan from old to new Footscray Hospital.
  • Drive the impact assessment and develop a scope of works for the works to be conducted for the NFH design, build, test and transition.
  • Conduct risk assessment to ensure appropriate risk mitigation strategies are incorporated in the transition plan.
  • Coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure the systems are transitioned with minimal downtime to critical health services.
  • Provide advice to the NFH Technology Lead and members of the NFH project, State ICT Consultants, DTS and Digital Health teams on a range of project issues, and emerging risks.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across WH through participation in various DTS, Digital Health and NFH project workshops and forums.
  • Ensure compliance with internal change management, Change Advisory Board (CAB) and WH technology policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and approval processes at WH, as well as with broader NFH Project governance.
