Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Robert Half is seeking a Project Manager III - ATI to plan and coordinate all aspects of internal information system projects from initiation to production deployment. Projects typically involve network, hardware, or software implementation and upgrades. Coordinate work performed by technical and functional staff across all IT departments, internal customers, and partners, and/or vendors. Develop detailed project plans and manage all implementation processes including project chartering, resource allocation, progress tracking, issue management, risk management, budget analysis, change control, testing, documentation, training, and production deployment within budget and schedule constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years project management experience with significant responsibility progression
  • 1+ years team leadership experience
  • More than four types of projects managed
  • Ten or more years IT experience, three minimum
  • Advanced proficiency in project management fundamentals, including planning and scheduling, budget tracking, risk, issue, and change management, critical path analysis,
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Excel and Jira
  • General to advanced knowledge of IT functions and disciplines
  • Ability to lead, coordinate, and collaborate with technical teams
  • Strong work ethic and self-discipline
  • Ability to prioritize and focus effort
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent business writing skills
  • Advanced ability to manage others
  • Strong ability to influence others and present ideas persuasively

    The typical hourly pay rate for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location.
    $50.48 - $76.44

Responsibilities:

  • Manage large and complex projects typically involve multiple technical, business, and/or vendor teams; may have globally distributed teams, multiple technology platforms or delivery verticals, and cross-project dependencies
  • Facilitate and control changes to project scope, schedule, and cost
  • Adjust plans as needed to ensure successful delivery
  • Inspire the project team and motivate them to understand and meet customers’ expectations
  • Document project resource plan which integrates and aligns with project work plan and budget
  • Identify, analyze, and escalate resourcing issues to Resource Managers as appropriate
  • Proactively ensure effective transition into production, building operational readiness into all project phases
  • Identify, analyze, escalate, and facilitate resolution of issues affecting project scope, schedule or cost appropriately
  • Measure and analyze progress against plan using objective, standard criteria
  • Adapt to changing project environment
  • Utilize knowledge of company culture, history, and lessons learned to optimize project execution
  • Identify project stakeholders (RAPID or RACI)
  • Identify and document key project parameters like business objective, customer, technical and functional scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Ensure that project/release plans include provisions for organizational change management
  • Work with technical and business contacts and other key stakeholders to develop project plans, resource plans, communications mechanisms, and strategies to meet project goals
  • Extend influence as a thought leader on the project
  • Typically focus on technical, delivery, and business risks
  • Independently, as well as part of regular team planning and reviews, identify project risks and work with leadership to agree on mitigation strategies
  • Track mitigation steps until resolved
  • Manage risks among multiple distributed teams and IT & business stakeholders
  • Integrate risk management into all project management processes
  • Proactively and independently accommodate changing needs by tailoring standard processes
  • Encourage continuous improvement in the project team
  • Assign and monitor work of IT staff and vendors, ensuring alignment with project parameters
  • Work directly with resource managers to coordinate resource planning, mobilization, and utilization
  • Work with key project team members to develop, agree, baseline, publish, and maintain the project plan
  • Coordinate work performed by IT staff, internal partners, and vendors
  • Document and publish meeting minutes, key decisions, and action items
  • Ensure all project deliverables are published consistently and are available to all stakeholders
  • Proactively tailor and implement standard communications mechanisms that meet stakeholders’ needs
  • Communicate with IT and business leadership on project strategy, direction, and changes
  • Optimize results through highly effective communications
  • Facilitate meetings to optimize purpose, flow, participation, and follow-up including the collection of action items and production of meeting outcomes
  • Oversee effective communications among technical and functional IT staff, internal partners and customers, vendors, and senior executives
  • Publish objective, regular, accurate project status to stakeholders escalating any needed decision points to appropriate stakeholder(s)
  • Weekly Status reporting to key stakeholders with Issues and challenges faced by the project
