Description:
OVERVIEW
The Project Manager Marine has overall on-site responsibility and authority for their project and will have managerial oversight of the project team. The Project Manager is responsible for all safety, operational, productivity, and commercial aspects of the project and will be the primary point of contact with the client.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or other related engineering field
- At least five years relevant experience including dredging and/or marine construction
- Proven project leadership expertise
- Proficiency in Excel, power point, Microsoft office
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position as outlined in the Functional Job Description
- Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testin

Responsibilities:
- Upholds the Company’s commitment to an injury-free workplace; leads and models safe work practices
- Follows all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
- Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE
- Ensures team members are provided a safe work environment and are knowledgeable of safe work practices and policies
- Ensures that the project is managed and executed in compliance with the contracts, specifications, regulations and permits, and all Company policies, procedures, and directives
- Oversees all aspects of dredging projects
- Operates as the primary and effective contact liaison with the Client. Strives to fairly and effectively meet or exceed the Client’s goals and objectives
- Manages a team of field engineers for prompt distribution of daily deliverables to dredge crews
- Identifies improvements in all systems, safety, project reporting etc., includes implementing plans that will yield more efficient dredging methods
- Develops and drafts project execution plans that meets client requirements and timeline
- Establishes budgets and tracks expenditures
- Assists with creation of post award client submittals and other deliverables
- Works with Human Resources to coordinate dredge fleet and crewing needs
- Oversees all required daily reporting
- Manages the coordination of daily QC of surveys, dredge plans and production expectations
- Assists with estimating and client proposals
- Tracks project milestones
- Identifies and mitigates potential risk to the project’s health
- Manages project performance, production, safety, and efficiency utilizing site, department and staff resources
- Be 100% familiar with the contract, plans, and specifications (including applicable regulations and permits) and ensures contract and regulatory compliance in operations, administration, and commercial management.
- Executes timely, comprehensive, and effective contract correspondence and documentation in compliance with Encore’s contract management procedures.
- Manages all subcontracts and project expenses in compliance with Encore’s subcontracting and purchasing policies
- Participates in preparation of changes, proposals, and claims and ensures timely notice and documentation of all events and facts of claims and disputes
- Maintains an accurate schedule and working cost estimate to completion and ensures accurate reporting against the current cost estimate
Ensures timely payment from the client
