About this area
The Riddet Institute is a world-best research centre in food and nutritional
sciences, providing fundamental scientific understanding and training for a new
generation of science leaders. The Riddet Institute includes a Centre of
Research Excellence (CoRE) that integrates partner organisations (Massey
University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant & Food
Research) and disciplines. The Riddet Institute also hosts the Sustainable
Nutrition Initiative, a program sitting outside of the CoRE and focuses on
advancing evidence for sustainable food systems. Collectively, this leads to a “NZ
Inc” approach to food research (and related disciplines) and generates
knowledge and capability that transforms New Zealand and the New Zealand
food industry.

Accountabilities
Project • Support SNi® via project management and administration to ensure delivery of

management all SNi® projects.

  • Manage SNi® stakeholder relationships, proactively liaising with academic,

industry, NGO (e.g., Fonterra, Gates Foundation) and government (e.g., MPI,

MBIE) partners, including coordination of access to the DELTA Model®.

  • Liaison with Massey University Legal Services and external parties for

contractual matters.

  • Assist in the organisation and management of SNi® events.
  • Preparation of meeting arrangements, agenda, minutes, project reports, risk

and action registers, templates, and internal communications.
Strategic • Champion all aspects of SNi® to achieve a positive profile for the project.
communications • Coordinate online content for SNi®.

• Liaise with external web and graphic designers and content developers.

  • Represent the project team in meetings with prospective partners and

interested external parties.

Teamwork • Be an active member of the SNi® team.

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships within the Riddet Institute’s

research staff and across the larger Riddet Institute network.

  • Participate in relevant administration and research team meetings.
  • Communicate closely with members of the SNi® team to support their activities.

Other Contribute to the functioning of the Riddet Institute, which may involve:

  • effective planning, project management and provision of regular activity and

status reports as agreed with your line manager.

  • participating as an active and engaged team member of the wider Riddet

Institute team.
Other relevant duties as directed by the SNi® Project Leader.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications: An appropriate tertiary qualification.
Experience: • Proven aptitude/experience in project management, particularly of diverse

projects with several stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven aptitude/experience in communication and/or administration.
  • Experience and/or aptitude for website content and other online platforms

would be an advantage.

  • A science background and working understanding of, or strong interest in,

sustainability and/or nutrition would be an advantage.

  • Experience in the use of office computers, including the use of Microsoft Office

software.
