Description:
NSB Omega is searching for a Project Manager of ether a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Background for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John’s, NL
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes of work;
- Create and execute project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
- Prepare tender packages for contracts;
- Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs);
- Review tender packages prepared by other consultants and contractors;
- Initiate and monitor all aspects of projects to ensure compliance with schedules and budgets;
- Ensure project change requests are properly evaluated and authorized;
- Ensure all approved changes are communicated to the project team and reflected in the active project budget and schedule;
- Identify and respond to issues, implement timely interventions or escalate as required to ensure project outcomes comply with project plans;
- Ensure that terms of agreements or commitments are understood and fully respected;
- Direct and supervise consultants and contractors during the completion of specific engagements;
- Communicate with Operations on a regular basis;
- Travel to site as required to provide technical input and field support.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Engineering Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Professional Engineer registered in Newfoundland & Labrador;
- 8 years or more experience in construction projects;
- Field experience, particularly relating to hydro-electric facilities or the electrical industry in general is considered desirable;
- Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment;
- A valid driver’s license will be required as there will be some travel involved.
