Description:

    We are on a growth journey and an exciting new role has become available in our Whangarei Network Platforms team for a system platforms Project Manager.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you’ll have proven experience implementing system, people, and process changes, preferably within the utilities industry. You’ll be someone with an understanding of how to deliver projects and implement change.

We’re looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:

  • Project management qualification (Prince2, PMP, Agile or similar)
  • Ability to build trust and maintain strong collaborative working relationships
  • Exceptional influencing and change management capability to help internal teams adapt new ways of working
  • Excellent communication ( written and verbal) , presentation, and interpersonal skills to negotiate with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment
  • A proactive approach, tackling challenges head-on and seeking solutions
  • GIS and Infrastructure/engineering/electricity industry experience is advantageous
  • Financial literacy and ability to write reports
  • Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed. You will work closely with digital and technical staff
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MS Excel and Project
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload

Responsibilities:

Reporting to Strategic Initiatives Programme Manager, you’ll be working closely with our managers, engineers, vendors, and digital teams to manage Network Platforms projects.

Primarily you will be managing two strategic projects to deliver new asset maintenance and operations capabilities using cutting edge utility technologies.

  • Low Voltage Management – oversee introduction of new LV data, systems, and operations processes, manage design of standard and policies
  • Introduction of LIDAR Aerial Inspections and associated business processes

You will manage the projects working with our staff to initiate the projects, planning approach, tasks, resources, timeframes, managing risks and constraints. You will support analysts, developers, network engineering and operations with project delivery, monitor and report on various project activities. A big part of this role will be working with our Asset Information and Maintenance teams to understand what changes are required to support the extension of our footprint with these projects, and support implement these changes.
