As Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. This is a senior role and will require interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll often be managing several moving projects simultaneously and you’ll need to have the technical skills to back the Project Streams to ensure that our teams deliver the Project with optimized technical solutions, on time and in budget. You’ll working with, cross-functional teams with our key hubs in Sydney and Brisbane.
So, what’s the job?

Project Planning and Execution

  • You’ll lead a number of projects simultaneously, developing project plans and related artefacts to determine the duration, sequencing, and dependencies for the project schedule.
  • You’ll create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources.
  • You’ll identify and manage potential risks and liabilities of projects.
  • You’ll lead the definition of project scope and goals.
  • You’ll perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain expected standards.
  • You’ll lead the alignment of project objectives with company goals, and make sure the project team is clear on objectives.
  • You’ll foster partnership with customers/stakeholders/sponsors.
  • You’ll establish and manage the risk register and risk analysis report.
  • You’ll manage the impact of scope change.
  • You’ll provide project updates on a regular basis.
  • You’ll manage project plans, resources, and execution.
  • You’ll optimise the reuse of knowledge and technical capability gained from other projects.
  • You’ll adhere to SLAs and regulatory obligations.
  • You’ll ensure schedule alignment with all approved change requests, constraints, and risks.

Relationship Management

  • You’ll develop partnerships with key business stakeholders.
  • You’ll respectfully evaluate requirements and advise on technology solutions.
  • You’ll ensure solutions are aligned with the Business Strategy and deliver desirable outcomes for internal and external customers.
  • You’ll facilitate communication between technical teams and internal customers.
  • You’ll define, communicate, and confirm agreement to project context and objectives with all key stakeholders.
  • You’ll be accountable and responsible for effective financial management, planning, and monitoring of the projects.
  • You’ll provide monthly information to enable the creation of financial results and forecasts.
  • You’ll estimate project costs and develop the project budget, ensuring appropriate contingency is included.
  • You’ll monitor and control actual project billings, expenditure, and cash flow against the budget and forecast.
  • You’ll be accountable for the overall project budget and reporting to the steering committee and project portfolio committee.
  • You’ll reconcile monthly to Finance project cost reports to ensure alignment with the GL.
  • You’ll determine project staffing levels and required competencies, upsizing and downsizing with contractors and permanent staff as needed to deliver projects on time (and within budget).
  • You’ll allocate staff within the project, with approval by their line managers.
  • You’ll monitor and notify Line Managers to rectify any gaps in individual or group skills and knowledge to achieve project objectives.
  • You’ll set a clear vision and direction, ensuring alignment with strategy.
  • You’ll drive a culture of engagement, accountability, and innovation.
  • You’ll demonstrate integrity and uphold ethics and company values.
  • You’ll promote diversity and equal opportunity.

And what are we looking for?

  • You’ll have 8+ years’ experience in project management, especially larger projects with established firms.
  • You’ll have prior experience working in an Agile environment, fostering a culture of ongoing improvement.
  • You’ll have strong POM experience.
  • You’ll demonstrate proven leadership skills through past experience.
  • You’ll have expertise in conflict resolution.
  • You’ll possess analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability.
  • You’ll have strong leadership experience developing high-performance teams.
  • You’ll have excellent stakeholder management experience.
  • You’ll have a strong understanding of the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods of analytics and the benefits and times where you would use one over the other.
  • You’ll have excellent planning skills and experience, with a natural capability for seeing dependencies and driving others to deliver, whilst maintaining great relationships.
  • You’ll have experience leading teams in how to employ best practices, principles, and approaches.
  • You’ll have the ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
  • You’ll have the ability to articulate and gain engagement for ideas from both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You’ll have the ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • You’ll have outstanding written communication skills with an advanced understanding of business documentation requirements.
  • You’ll have a bachelor’s degree required; a master’s preferred.
