Senior Project Manager - Platform Migration | 12 month Contract | QLD Government | Flexible working arrangements

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

Talent Street is looking for a Project Manager - Platform Migration for a large Queensland government department. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work on major platform migration work programs for current IT infrastructure, technologies and application management services that host and support business-critical corporate enterprise solutions of the client’s (eg. SAP ECC6, Infor WFM, S/4HANA and associated systems). These solutions support workforce management, payroll, business, finance and logistics solutions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the delivery of complex enterprise systems migration projects including SAP brownfield migrations - preferably in the Healthcare industry. S/4HANA and Prince2 experience is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute end-to-end project management activities and manage the definition, production of all artefacts to successfully complete the project(s) in line with the client’s project management methodologies.
  • Follow guidelines from the Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) Portfolio, Program and Project Management Policy, and also promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
  • Oversee and manage the monitoring, controlling and reporting of project related trends and performance against project plans, deliverables and schedules.
  • Support the management of financial, contractual, and operational commitments.
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
  • Manage capability and resource development by leading and mentoring multidisciplinary team(s)Multi-tasking, prioritising, communicating and organising activities in a virtual environment to achieve project milestones.
  • Ensure that the information of the client is managed in accordance with Departmental Information Security policy and Standards, to ensure its confidentiality, availability and integrity.

About you:

  • A background in Health is a great advantage.
  • A good balance of SAP technical and functional project management experience, project management methodology (PRINCE2 in SAP projects preferred), change management (ICT related) and relational skills. Experience with Infor enterprise workforce management systems would be considered a bonus.
  • Leadership of enterprise systems platform migration projects, including SAP brownfield migrations, cloud migration projects and product suite upgrades - S/4HANA experience preferred. It is anticipated that candidates would have a minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in project management, particularly in SAP-related roles. Infor enterprise workforce management experience would be a bonus.
  • Experience in developing business cases and PRINCE2 products for platform migration projects, particularly for SAP solutions, including tailoring methodologies to establish the project management environment unique.
  • At least 3 to 4 Full Lifecycle SAP Implementations ideally with expertise in Human Capital Management, supply chain, procurement and financial modules.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of large and complex SAP based projects, preferably in the health care industry.
  • Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support the business, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Proven excellent negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project environment.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including teleconference and web conference.
  • Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary team which includes external service providers.
  • Proven analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members.
  • Experience in release management processes to undertake the planning of the upgrade landscape.
  • Experience in providing innovative solutions and plan to resolve application, technical infrastructure and business process issues.
  • A relevant qualification and/or accreditation in the PRINCE2, MSP, ITIL framework, Agile or SAFE would be well regarded as well as experience using the SAP Activate methodology.
  • Highly desirable attributes would be experience in:
  • Complex Government project environments
  • Working with/within the healthcare services sector
  • SAP solutions such as ECC6 and S/4HANA, contemporary Human Capital Management solutions and Solution Manager experience
  • Infor enterprise workforce management systems.
