QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as construction management, architecture, engineering, orbusiness is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a construction orarchitectural context.
  • Sales Experience: Proven experience in sales or a strong understanding of the sales process is essential toseamlessly transition clients from the sales phase to project management.
  • Project Management Skills: Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, including the ability tocreate and interpret Gantt charts and project schedules.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with construction industry standards, building codes, and best practices isbeneficial.

Responsibilities:

Project Schedule: Develop & Manage Progress

  • Implement & manage Gantt charts – keeping up to date; ensuring they reflect actual and projected progress with the support of the Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate & collaborate with Consultants, Engineers, Planners, Government, Trades, and Internal Team (Design, Operations, Supervisor) to execute tasks in alignment with the project plan.
  • Ensure Health & Safety administrative tasks completed (Including, but not limited to: Hospital Maps; Form 1000s; internal risk assessment forms; Notice of Project; Coordinate Locates etc.) with the support of the Project Administrator.

Project Finance: Estimating; Job Costing; Change Orders; Invoicing

  • Continually track and control construction costs to avoid cost overruns.
  • Actively manage projects set up on “T&M/CostPlus/Allowance” basis, to minimize unnecessary costs or inefficiencies; prepare inputs for invoicing accordingly.
  • Ensure client invoicing is up to date as per agreed upon intervals/milestones in coordination with the Sales Manager.

Project Inputs: Client Selections; BOMs; Trade Selections & PO Prep

  • Break down Contract into material orders & trade POs; ensure scope matches contract and quotes received fit the project estimate.
  • Communicate activity sequence with our Operations Team to ensure co-ordinated material delivery that meets project schedule timelines.
  • Ensure proper and timely project kickoff (review takeoffs, estimates, designs, and other products, with Site Supervisors, to confirm all material and specs being used).
  • Along with the Construction Manager, ensure regular jobsite visits/reviews to ensure project is progressing according to plan, materials have arrived, trades are performing, and client is satisfied.
  • Regularly interact with Site Supervisors to address any schedule, delivery or quality issues.

Client Relationship: Transactions; Logistics

  • Act as primary point of contact for Clients after project transition from Sales Manager; ensure clarity of expectations and compliance to contract.
  • Enable a healthy, high trust, drama free working relationship between POST and the Client.
  • Follow up on all additional opportunities with the client; administer change orders (quote, sell, collect).
  • Deliver invoices to clients; follow up on outstanding invoices ensuring payment within specified timelines.
  • Keep client account up to date and communicate project status to the client.
  • Handle requests for repairs to resolve.
