We now have offices in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas, and our service capabilities include all aspects of electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering design; industrial control system programming; and IT infrastructure design, networking, and consulting services. Our work primarily serves municipal water/wastewater utilities, state and local jails, detention/corrections facilities, as well as private clients.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with extensive HMI/PLC programming experience to join our team in the Dallas office. The position will consist of managing the scope, schedule and budget of the project and leading a team of engineers in the technical direction of execution of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify/improve, test, and start-up PLC and HMI automation programming projects for clients. Troubleshoot automation programs for all projects.
  • Ability to manage projects and budgets successfully.
  • Work closely with contractors and clients to implement software and hardware upgrades.
  • Produce effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
  • Serve as lead automation and programming discipline person implementing changes, or as a lead on automation projects overseeing work being performed on medium to large-sized projects.
  • Oversee automation programming teams as well as providing mentorship for junior programmers and designers.
  • Delegate work to junior and mid-level staff, provide QA/QC oversight to ensure quality.
  • Provide project scheduling and budgeting.
  • Successfully deliver assigned projects on time and on budget using company systems and tools. Participate in business development teams by providing technical input into proposal preparation and attending project team interviews.
  • Build and maintain client relationships while promoting and integrating company-wide initiatives and values.
  • Be self-motivated with an outgoing personality and excellent planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience of PLC/HMI programming experience in an Automation/Programming role with 3 years’ experience in water/wastewater industry project teams preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a licensure within 12 months of hire.
  • Proven record of working and maintaining relationships with existing clients and projects with the ability to deliver those projects successfully, profitably, and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to document system changes for operations and maintenance records.
  • Knowledge and experience with business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of staff and firm resources.
  • Must be available to work in Dallas or San Antonio
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
