BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • 5-10 years prior work experience in Commodity Management environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of the concepts of MRP
  • Skill in the use of Oracle 11i and Rapid Response
  • This includes but is not limited to the ability to create POs to purchase end of life components as necessary
  • Project Management skills used to manage “large scale” discontinuances as projects
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to juggle many different activities and prioritize appropriately
  • Knowledge of Tableau preferred, but not required
  • BS in Business with an emphasis in Supply line management, Logistics, Material Control, or similar areas.
  • MBA in Project Management is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the impact of new supplier discontinuances, and prioritize action based on potential cost and time before LTB date.
  • Preventing revenue shipment interruptions as well as escalating and assessing potential revenue impacts to management team
  • Integrate with commodity engineering on qualifying replacements or seeking alternatives
  • Integrate with marketing as long term forecasts change over time, to analyze the impact to LTB component supply/runout and take action
  • Analyze historical shipments to determine usage and future run outs for all last time buy parts
  • Integrate with commodity management to ensure the supply chain can be supported during qualification period
  • Determine appropriate last time buy against Marketing multi-point forecast, and highlight the inventory risks of overbuy and the product risks of underbuy
  • Present last time buy recommendations to management for approval
  • Continuous improvement for discontinuance process
