ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an opportunity to join a new PMO from its establishment. We are looking for self-motivated and proactive team players who think creatively and look for solutions to complex issues. Working in the PMO will offer high profile, cross-agency exposure. You will develop comprehensive skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, communication, whole-of-government frameworks and Cabinet processes. You will work with entities from across the Commonwealth to increase awareness of and build capability of entities ERP capabilities using technology solutions that best meet their needs.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to the team leader in carrying out the duties of the PMO.
  • Supporting the team structure establishment, and onboarding staff.
  • Providing support towards a desktop analysis across all in-scope Commonwealth entities including a current state and future needs assessment.
  • Supporting entities to consider options and choose technology solutions that best meet their needs and budgets.
  • Using information on each entity to; detail the expected benefits to be achieved; how they will be realised and measured; and when they will occur.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes and to provide updates regarding the status of work.
  • Developing and maintaining project documentation.
  • Supporting the development of a Business Case and Cabinet submission.
  • Proactively managing and reporting on timeframes, risks and issues.
  • Working collaboratively within the PMO and with other entities.
  • Taking responsibility to help the team meet objectives and progress and meet milestones.
  • Promoting consistency and quality outcomes across all work.
