Administration and Project Officer – Study Melbourne

  • Salary: $74,580 - $90,558(Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term role: 12 months
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 17 Hardware Lane Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to work in a key role in the Study Melbourne Hub, Victoria (SMH). This position will provide key reception, administration, financial, event and project support, working as part of a team in the delivery of Study Melbourne’s support services and activities that respond to the needs of international students studying in Victoria.

The responsibilities of the Administration and Project Officer will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage reception service at the Study Melbourne Hub, including assessing the needs of prospective clients and directing to appropriate services as required, ensuring the Hub reception is a very warm, welcoming, and professional space.
  • Provide a range of business support services to the Hub and maintain financial systems in adherence with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide a range of administrative support services to the Hub.

The Team
The position of Administration and Project Officer forms a part of the The Trade, Global Engagement, and International Education Branch. The Trade, Global Engagement, and International Education Branch connects Victoria to global opportunities. We do this by building the export capability of Victorian businesses, connecting Victorians to global trade opportunities through our international network of twenty-three offices, promoting our world class industry capabilities to international audiences and seeking to attract and retain the best global talent. We take a leadership role for global engagement across Government and advocate for the best policy settings for Victoria to be globally competitive.
About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared work plans and goals and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including excellent attention to detail. Ability to draft promotional materials, as well as demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated resource management skills, including experience using financial systems, along with strong initiative and ability to drive system improvements in a proactive and solutions-focused manner.
