Description:

We are looking for a high performing Project Officer to join the Intergovernmental Liaison Team within Policy and Funding Reform and Intergovernmental Liaison Unit (PFR and ILT) in Government Relations Branch at the NSW Ministry of Health.
The PFR and ILT Unit comprised of four streams within the Government Relations Branch and are collectively responsible for stewarding reform efforts with the Commonwealth and other States and Territories, developing innovative policy and system reforms, and securing high-level funding contributions from other jurisdictions for NSW.
PFR has a leadership role in negotiating and managing intergovernmental agreements and initiatives, including:
- Addendums to the National Health Reform Agreement (NHRA)
- Healthdirect Australia contractual arrangements
- Cross border agreements, and
- Funding agreements with the Commonwealth to deliver innovative models of care or facilitate contributions to certain major infrastructure projects or service enhancements
ILT supports the Health Minister and Health Executive to effectively position NSW on priority health issues at the Health Ministers’ Meetings (HMM) and the Health Chief Executive Forum (HCEF).
The teams lead engagement with other jurisdictions, NSW central agencies and national bodies on complex intergovernmental issues and coordinates with relevant areas across NSW Health to support this work.
Project Officer, Intergovernmental Liaison
This is a pivotal role for a dynamic individual who enjoys working as part of a team in a progressive and fast-paced environment to deliver high quality and timely papers and briefings to the Minister’s office and the Secretary, often within tight timeframes and within a dynamic political environment. The role involves reviewing, analysing, editing, and coordinating responses to time sensitive, confidential, and complex issues in a busy, high-volume environment. You will be pragmatic in your approach, display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have well developed conceptual and analytical ability combined with excellent organisational skills.

Crown Clerk Grade 7/8, starting salary from $106,025 - $117,363 p.a. (plus superannuation and annual leave loading)
