Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced construction professional to act as a Project Quality Assurance Representative on multi-million dollar government funded projects. This individual will be responsible for the quality assurance oversight and due diligence of construction subcontractors and equipment installation for Modernization projects, located at Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RFAAP). The candidate will be required to integrate within a team of Subject Matter Experts in an effort to fulfill technical requirements/deliverables to the US Department of Defense.

The following duties are typical of this position:

  • Quality representative on Modernization construction and/or design projects
  • Ensure Modernization subcontractors/vendors conform to quality control requirements tailored to the project
  • Review and monitoring of subcontractor Quality Control Plans
  • Development and execution of project specific Quality Assurance Plans
  • Review of design packages for inclusion of quality control technical requirements
  • Technical review of construction submittals to ensure specification compliance
  • Observation of subcontractor testing and inspections for compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Perform vendor and supplier site visits and write reports
  • Corrective Action issuance and tracking
  • Testing and Inspection report auditing
  • Final Closeout/Turnover package reviews

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering technical discipline or construction management, or the overall equivalent experience
  • Must have technical construction knowledge and experience
  • Ability to interpret construction related drawings, specifications, and code references
  • Highly effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Collaborative interpersonal experience working with subcontractors and vendors on construction projects
  • Ability to obtain/maintain the required security clearance
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam software
  • Ability to maneuver through typical obstacles presented on a construction site
  • Willing to travel up to 25%, which may include air travel, to support vendor visits and factory acceptance testing
  • Must be a US Citizen as position supports on a military base and will require a security clearance

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Government-Owned/Contractor-Operated construction and operations knowledge and experience
  • Experience with proposal and execution of Government programs and contracts
  • Experience with technical writing
  • USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification
  • Technical certifications, such as those issued by International Code Council, American Concrete Institute, American Welding Society, etc.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification
