OPPORTUNITY WITH CMW GEOSCIENCES ON THE GOLD COAST

Our team on the Gold Coast is looking to grow and as such we are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Geotechnical Engineer(s) at Project or Senior levels who have the drive and energy to help us build our operation.

In terms of general duties, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking field (such as construction phase monitoring & other related works) and/or design related activities
  • Scoping and costing various projects from small to large scale
  • Providing consistent technical quality of project delivery with occasional review and supervision required
  • Prepare technical documents and other correspondence
  • Work at the direction of senior technical staff to support progress in all aspects of project delivery with little supervision
  • Work with the technical team to develop technical solutions using a robust understanding of engineering and geological principles based on experience gained
  • Ensure that the projects are completed on time, within budget and to the desired quality standards
  • Maintaining good relationships with existing clients and working with the client relations/business development team to target new opportunities
  • Mentor & train graduate to junior level staff
  • Any other related activities as directed by senior management

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified Geotechnical Engineer, Civil Engineer or similar (Engineering Geologist) with more than 8 years of experience working as a Geotechnical Engineer in a consulting engineering environment. You’ll also possess demonstrated experience in the undertaking and planning of site investigations and geotechnical consultancy projects. Experience in design or the keenness to develop these abilities would be highly regarded. So having experience with software such as Plaxis 2D/3D, GeoStudio, RocScience or similar would be highly regarded. Having good communication skills and attention to detail is essential. Ideally, you will hold CPEng/RPEQ or working towards attaining it.
