Description:

The Ateneo de Manila University (Ateneo) is one of the leading universities in the Philippines. More than 150 years in existence, the Ateneo has grown into a major Jesuit institution. Officially it became a university in 1959. It offers over 100 academic degree programmes.
Ateneo offers Basic Education (Grade School, Junior and Senior High School). In addition, the Loyola Schools (college) is made up of four schools (Social Sciences; Humanities; Science and Engineering; and Management) that offer graduate and undergraduate degrees, with a total enrolment of about 10,000 students per year. The Ateneo has 4 professional schools located in 3 campuses in Quezon City, Makati City and Pasig City (Business; Government; Law; and Medicine and Public Health), with about 4,000 professional postgraduate students.
It has an array of research centres, 11 of which are recognized as Centres of Excellence by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education. In addition to a European Studies Programme, it has a Centre for Asian Studies that fosters comparative research on East and Southeast Asia.
The Ateneo has 207 partnerships with universities around the world (82 in Europe, 87 in Asia, 11 in Australia and New Zealand, and 27 in North and South America) and is a member of the ASEAN Universities Network and 3 other international university networks. The Ateneo’s Rizal Library is the most advanced in the Philippines with over 307,000 titles in its collection and online access to most major academic journals.

SUMMARY OF PROJECT SCOPE:

The Project Staff will report directly to the Assistant Vice President for Research, Creative Work, and Innovation. S/he will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Office and its programs, particularly, the Publication Awards, Conference subsidy, and research initiatives related to university ranking and accreditation. The Project Staff will also assist in liaising with the other units under the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Research, Creative Work, and Innovation.

List of scholarly work and supporting documents for the University Scholarly Work Awards Committee’s deliberation.
Final list of vetted scholarly work with amounts and other pertinent details.
Minutes of the University Scholarly Publication Awards Committee meetings.
Logistical preparations for rcw events
Publication summaries to use as reference for conference grant applications.
Documents and other materials related to accreditation and world university rankings, including the new Research Manual.
Minutes of meetings re: accreditation, ranking, policies, and other research matters
Memos about office programs and projects.
Activities that the project staff would undertake could involve:
Coordinating and documenting the selection process for university scholarly work awards.
Assisting in the preparation and review of conference grant proposals.
Frontline duties including screening inquiries, preparing documents, and managing schedules.
Disseminating information about office programs and projects.
Coordinating logistical preparations for rcw events
Corresponding and coordinating with various administrators and offices regarding research-related matters such as rankings and accreditation requirements; evaluation, revision, and implementation of research grants and policies; benchmarking and collaborative activities, and so on.
Preparing/collecting documents and other materials for paascu and aun submissions.
Scheduling meetings and documenting discussions.
Other administrative support.
Metrics and milestones expected from the project staff position may include:
Completion of documented selection process within specified timeline.
Efficient documentation of meetings and grant processing.
Timely submission of accreditation and ranking requirements
Accurate evaluation of conference grant proposals.
Efficiency in screening inquiries and managing schedules.
Reach and engagement metrics for disseminated information about office programs and projects.
Successful coordination and execution of logistical preparations for rcw events.
Timely and effective correspondence with various administrators and offices regarding research-related matters.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline
1-2 years of experience in administrative work or a leadership position preferred
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
Basic financial management understanding
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet deadline
