JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Project Management Apprentice to join our Business Improvement and Change (BIC) Team at the House of Lords.
This is an opportunity where you will be able to get hands-on project support experience while studying towards a Level 4 Project Management apprenticeship, leading towards a recognised qualification. You will support the BIC team on a range of projects focused on business improvement, change management, culture change and insight/analysis.
This is an opportunity to work on a hybrid basis where you will be able to work a minimum of 2 days onsite at Parliament. This is an exciting position for someone who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge within project management, has a passion for working in Parliament and who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You’ll be accountable for –

  • Project Planning: Supporting your BIC colleagues with project planning and monitoring progress against plans.
  • Meeting and workshop facilitation: Assisting with the scheduling and facilitation of project-related meetings and workshops. Supporting project boards and other meetings, including formal minute-taking.
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement: Acting as a point of contact for the BIC team, supporting and assisting with project communications.
  • BIC information management: Creating and maintaining project documents and undertaking file/records management.
  • Project tasks: providing support to projects, such as stakeholder mapping sessions, project start up workshops and lessons learnt sessions.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

What we’re looking for –

  • Time Management - Organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail - Strong attention to detail and able to undertake tasks required to a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective Communication - Clear and accurate oral, written, and online communications skills with the ability to present information concisely and adapt style appropriately for different audiences.
  • Building relationships - Experience of developing effective working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • IT skills - Sound knowledge of appropriate IT and tools to assist in the project management process: MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Teamwork - Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating reliability, a flexible approach to work, and a high level of initiative.
