Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Finance Manager, Projects to Assets, you will report directly to the Group Manager Finance Shared Services.
In this role, you will lead a team and oversee the Construction to Disposal accounting process, which encompasses of the following: Fixed Asset, Project Accounting, Leased Asset, Time and Labour Capture and Reporting for Projects and Asset maintenance.

This is a 6-month Limited term opportunity, covering for leave.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading the team to provide project accounting and fixed asset maintenance services (including time and labour capture) and leased asset maintenance services.
  • Provide business partnering advice and direction to project managers and accountants across Origin on designing project cost capture, work break down structure and capitalisation processes, recharge and cost recovery rates / processes, project financial reports, project budgeting and planning.
  • Responsible for ensuring processes to construct and capitalise assets are efficient and governance practices that surround these ERP modules are appropriate.
  • Provide technical process expertise to acquisition or disposals, changes in accounting treatments or key transactions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, improve business as usual processes and, where required, design and implement new processes using automation tools where appropriate.
  • Leading a project manager community across Origin by building relationships with a range of project managers and accountants across Origin’s business.

You will hold CPA/CA accreditation with 5-7 years of experience in an accounting role managing teams. You will demonstrate and apply technical knowledge in financial accounting, consistently maintaining high standards while developing additional skills. You will also:

  • You will have excellent communication skills working with senior stakeholders through business partnering.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or people management role.
  • Ability to understand and analyse trends, interpret results and link to business goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and takes ownership of resolution and share learnings across the team.
  • Knowledge of business objectives and drivers.Demonstrated experience in enhancing processes using SAP, eliminating non-value adding activities and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
