Description:

Our client is seeking a Property Accountant (Residential, Commercial or combinations of both) to join their reputable organization. This client offers a beautiful working environment in the Downtown area with a highly collaborative and expanding team.
The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions and reporting for a portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years of experience in property accounting or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or progress towards CPA certification preferred but required.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of property budgets and forecasts, working closely with property management teams to identify revenue and expense trends.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management. Manage accounts receivable functions, including tenant billing and rent collections.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
