Description:
Robert Half is looking to permanent an Accounting Clerk to work in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Mgt industry, whose duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term contract / contract to permanent position located in the Hampton, Virginia area. Responsibilities
- Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a number of sources
- Circulate financial information to journals and ledgers
- Order documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
- Contribute to Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
- Aid Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
- Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Property Management experience preferred
- Proficiency in data entry
- Comprehensive knowledge of Code Invoices
- Residential Property Management experience
- Expertise in Enter Invoices
- Proven knowledge of Section 8
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended
