Description:

The Opportunity:
Due to growth within the team, Newcastle Anglican have a great opportunity for a Property Officer to join the team.
You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of Newcastle Anglican properties, including Supported Independent Living homes within Samaritans and ensuring regulatory compliance.
This role is a Full Time Fixed Term contract for 12 months.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Negotiation and execution of Residential Tenancy Agreements, Accommodation Agreements and Commercial leases
  • Management of Residential Tenancy Agreements in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act 2010
  • Day to day tenancy management including rent reviews, arrears management, bond management and compliant management
  • Manage the 6 monthly inspection program and report on the condition of the portfolio
  • Management of tenant responsibilities for leasehold properties including tenancy maintenance in accordance with each individual lease, implementation of services such as energy supplies, management of service providers, processing and management of income and expenditure
  • Assist in identification, negotiations of potential sites and cost and implementation of fit out requirements
  • Maintain the tenancy management software and all records relating to the property portfolio
  • Responsible for the adherence to compliance and audits
  • Represent the organisation at tribunal hearings

About you?

  • Relevant qualifications in real estate and/or property management
  • Demonstrated experience working in property with either a Real Estate and/or Social Housing provider
  • Experience using Property Management software, we currently use Chintaro and MEX
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Organised with the ability to work to strict timeframes, prioritise work commitments to meet deadlines and agreed quality standards.
  • Proven adherence to legislation, policies and procedures.
