  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • National Criminal History Check to be provided and assessed every three years. Presentation of a current National Criminal History Check must be made before appointment to the position can be confirmed.

Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this role is to provide operational Support to the congregations, Presbyteries institutions of the Queensland Synod to Equip, Enable and Encourage mission and ministry in these areas. The Role is to provide oversight of the registry function and provide advise to responsible bodies (users).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Property portfolio management
  • Maintenance of timely and accurate information about the portfolio
  • Identify emerging issues that need to be addressed
  • Enable appropriate support and guidance to Church entities
  • Risk management of the portfolio
  • Work with the Presbytery Support Unit to develop synergies across the Synod – including providing property information and value add services to presbyteries and congregations
  • Property utilisation management
  • Provide support and guidance to Congregations, Presbyteries, and other parts of the Church as required, in their use of property to increase funding or provide income
  • Review leases being provided for signing to ensure responsible bodies are receiving fair revenue from assets under their control.
  • Support the BDU in identification of additional revenue streams.
  • Gather and manage property information (data)
  • Address property data gaps from internal and external sources
  • Improve the management of property data including recording of data, data accuracy, storage and maintenance through CRM
  • Improve reporting for the purpose of better accountability and decision making
  • Provide FIPBoard Governance Support
  • Ensure bodies of the church are following the property governance requirements of the church.
  • Review and integrate applications to the relevant committees of the church to ensure the agreed Principles are being considered.
  • Assess property proposals to be considered by the Finance Investment and Property (FIP) Board and provide information including, data and analysis, including papers, to the FIP Board as required.
  • Oversight of the Uniting Church Foundation and bequest matters.
  • Support and enhance the work of the Property Development Managers through working with the Mission Accompanying Team to identify development possibilities of underutilised sites.
  • Ensure appropriate systems, policies and processes are in place to optimise the management of the property portfolio across the Queensland Synod
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and legislative changes affecting property management practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Undertake property projects as requested. Work collaboratively with internal teams to coordinate the review of policies, processes, forms and communication methods in relation to property.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of all culture elements and values. Embody and continually demonstrate the value-based behaviours by setting a clear clean and consistent example for others
  • Provide leadership, perform day to day supervision, inspire others to perform, build trusting relationships, conduct performance appraisal/management and facilitate professional development of direct reports.
  • Model the values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod in day to day work including interactions with managers, lay staff, ministry agents, clients and stakeholders.
  • Compliance with Queensland Synod policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Comply with Health and Safety directions and Public Health directions.
  • Undertake other duties as and when directed within the scope of the role and the capabilities of the incumbent.
