Salary: £31,397 - £34,402 per year
Hours: 36 hours

Duration of contract: 12 months with possibility of extension
We are seeking a Protecting People Project Officer who will work alongside local authorities across Scotland, and their community planning partners, to provide support across two of the IS key workstreams: Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls and Adopting a Trauma-Informed Approach.
The Project Officer will play a key role in bringing together stakeholders across Scotland to support collaboration, sharing learning and good practice within these two workstreams, and in working with the Protecting People team to support local authorities and community planning partners with evidencing progress and impact of this work for people and communities.
This exciting role is ideally suited to someone who is interested in helping to improve outcomes for people affected by violence, abuse and trauma in Scotland. While previous experience in supporting projects would be advantageous, we would welcome applications from candidates who are interested in working across a range of projects and gaining new knowledge, skills and experience.

Working as part of the IS’s Protecting People team, the post-holder will:

  • Help embed the Scottish Government and COSLA’s Equally Safe strategy and National Trauma Transformation Programme within local areas and support partners to embed a multi-agency, cross-policy approach to progressing the aims of these policy agendas;
  • Coordinate learning and implementation forum meetings to support professionals to connect to each other on a regular basis and share information, learning and resources;
  • Undertake research and lead on the production of newsletters, Elected Member briefings, case studies and other resources on key issues relating to adopting a multi-agency approach to tackling violence against women and embedding trauma-informed policy and practice;
  • Facilitate the capture and dissemination of knowledge concerning good practice in the progress and impact of embedding practice and policy that aims to improve outcomes for people affected by violence, abuse, trauma and adversity; and
  • Facilitate interactive events bringing together local and national stakeholders across Scotland to share information, learning and resources.

The Project Officer will also work collaboratively with a range of local and national partners including local authorities, the Scottish Government, COSLA, NHS Education for Scotland, Public Health Scotland and the Safe & Together Institute.

REQUIREMENTS

Location: West Lothian Council Civic Centre, Howden South Road, Livingston, EH54 6FF. The role will involve a blended model of home working and office working, with some travel across Scotland where required. This flexible approach will be agreed between employee and line manager.
Salary: SCP27 £31,397 to SCP30 £34,402
Duration of contract: 12 month contract, with possibility of extension.
Hours: Standard working week is 36 hours Monday to Friday. Hours can be worked flexibly in agreement with the Line Manager.
