Description:
Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training in Protection & Control Engineering . Reporting to the P&C Engineering Manager, this position is located in our Calgary (AB) or Vancouver (BC) office. This role involves the design of high voltage Transmission and Distribution projects from conception to construction. This EIT positions provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment .
- Assist in the development of engineering design schematics for protection & control systems for electrical components ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV.
- Support the lead engineer of the discipline with the development of project deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
- Comply with established guidelines and standards when developing engineering drawings, documents, and testing/inspection procedures.
- Assist in creating proposals, conducting AC & DC studies, and preparing construction and commissioning documentation.
- Working within established budget and project schedules.
- Manage RFIs, prepare, review and complete drawing mark-ups.
- Prepare and issue engineering design drawing packages.
- Working within established budget and project schedules.
- Electrical Engineering Degree from an an accredited institution, along with eligibility for the Canadian Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.), or registration capability with APEGA or EGBC.
- Experience ranging from fresh graduates to four years in the field of electrical engineering or related areas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
- Quick learner with the ability to integrate new information swiftly.
- Capable of collaborative work within a team setting.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
