Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Security License preferred, Crisis Prevention Intervention training within first 4 months of employment
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s license with a “good” driving history and no more than 4 points.
- High school diploma required
- 5+ Years of previous security experience prior experience in law enforcement / military preferred.
Responsibilities:
- In an assigned area(s), patrols the buildings and grounds observing for persons or conditions which could adversely affect the security and safety of the Medical Center
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft
- Locates and reports hazardous conditions and illegal activities as observed or documented
- Enforces hospital policy during any incidents using efficient and courteous procedures
- Handles incident situations per MSMC and departmental policy utilizing resources as appropriate or necessary
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary
- Maintains a basic understanding of alarm technology, as required
- Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations
- Understands the capabilities of and maintains proficiency in the use of all safety equipment and protective garments on campus
- Prepares accurate reports of such incidents as observed
- Controls situations
- Courteously controls subjects and witnesses and protects the scene and any physical evidence as observed by the discipline and the supervisor
- Conducts interviews
- Identifies and obtains statements from all persons having knowledge of the subject of investigation as evidenced by a complete and accurate report
- Records Evidence
- Identifies gathers or photographs all physical evidence regarding the subject of the investigation as observed by supervisors or the respective documentation
- Provides testimony regarding incidents investigated in the course of duty as needed
- Assists the safety officer in identifying and resolving actual or potential safety hazards
- Assists the Security Director in identifying and resolving potential or actual security vulnerabilities
- Staffs Security Post as required under supervision
- Responds to incidents as dispatched and as reflected in log entriesFollows directives regarding details or functions per supervisor instructions
- Acts as member of hazardous material spill team following provided training
- Adheres to Customer Service Standards as defined by the Security and Safety Department
- Remains familiar with and adheres to MSMC and Security Department regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines as observed
