Description:
Position Details: Full-time, Permanent
Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
Location: Flexible location within British Columbia, slight preference for locations near offices in Kamloops and Williams Lake.

REQUIREMENTS
- Civil, Environmental, or Geological Engineering degree or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) Designation with EGBC.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in hydrologic, hydraulic, water resources, geotechnical, or dam safety engineering, including experience with project design and construction.
- Ability to conduct field work, including remote dam safety inspections by truck or ATV.
- Strong planning, reporting and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and supervision skills.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
Responsibilities:
As the Provincial Engineer, you will perform a full range of specialized technical services in British Columbia, including but not limited to:
- Leading provincial dam safety efforts, contributing to dam safety reviews and performing field work, including inspections. Contributing to Dam Emergency Plan and Operation Maintenance and Surveillance plan preparation.
- Leading the design, contract management, and cost estimation for wetland conservation infrastructure, including earthworks and water conveyance structures.
- Providing expert knowledge and leadership to the team in hydrotechnical and civil engineering, to assist with project proposals, planning, delivery and implementation, regulatory approvals and permitting.
- Contributing to team resource management, long-range planning, and budgeting with the provincial asset management team.
- Supervising a growing team of junior engineers and engineering technologists
- Maintaining DUC’s Permit to Practice with EGBC as the appointed Responsible Person.
