About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated team-player to provide psychology services to schools in the Inner Gippsland Area. As a member of a vibrant, multi-disciplinary Student Support Services (SSS) team, the Provisional Psychologist provides service in the Inner Gippsland Area to primary and secondary schools. The successful applicant will collaborate with other SSS team members and health and wellbeing staff to provide consultation, assessment, support and program advice capable of improving teaching, learning and wellbeing strategies for students requiring support.

The role requires sound interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work autonomously. The successful applicant may be required to work across the Inner Gippsland Area as/when required. This position requires completion of registration with AHPRA within 2 years to remain ongoing.

Position Details
As a Provisional Psychologist with Student Support Services, you will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to access their education.
You will provide a range of psychological assessments and supports to school-aged students to improve student learning. You will have highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise effectively with a range of people in the education community and beyond.
The purpose of Student Support Services is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, school and network levels.
Student Support Services comprise a broad range of professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers. Student Support Services staff work as part of an integrated health and wellbeing team within networks of schools, focusing on providing group-based and individual support, workforce capability building, and the provision of specialised services.
Student Support Services (SSS) do vital work in supporting students’ health and wellbeing – particularly our most vulnerable students – and SSS are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.
The Inner Gippsland SSS Branch is made up of Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Administration Support, Team Leaders and a Branch Manager. As a member of this team, you will have access to a car to travel to various school locations (subject to availability), a laptop, an iPhone as well as access to an extensive assessment and resource library.
As a Provisional Psychologist you will have access to appropriate supervision and peer support. The external supervisor will be responsible for all correspondence and documentation with AHPRA for full registration. This is position requires completion of registration with AHPRA within 2 years to remain ongoing.
