Description:

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa we have an excellent opportunity based in Pretoria, South Africa to either start your own practice or add patients to your current workload. Our client is a drug and alcohol recovery center based in Pretoria and they are searching for either a full time or part time psychiatrist to join their comprehensive team.Full time opportunity:Our client will provide the office space, IT and telephone support and roughly 40 patients.Part time opportunity:Stay with your own practice but work 2 to 3 days a week at the recovery center.Payment: Billing Medical Aid directlyPatients: Mixed variety

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Psychiatrist
  • Registered with HPCSA
  • Experience working in addiction and mental health settings
  • High command of English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to treating clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of clients to diagnose and treat mental health and addiction disorders
  • Develop treatment plans that include medication management, individual and group therapy, and other evidence-based interventions
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients
  • Provide consultation and education to other healthcare professionals as needed
  • Document client progress and treatment plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Maintain a professional, ethical and compassionate approach to all interactions with clients and colleagues
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and comply with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
