Position: (2) 1.0 Full Time Permanent Psychoeducational Consultant
Location: HDSB Schools
[Burlington, Halton Hills (Acton & Georgetown), Oakville, Milton]
Start Date: September 3, 2024
Pay Rate: $78,678.00 - $104,781.00 per year as per the collective agreement
Salary step would be determined based on previous experience
Schedule: 10 Months/year (September - June); 35 hours per week

We are seeking a Pschoeducational Consultant to join our clinical services team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager, Professional Services, our Psychoeducational Consultants offer a variety of services in support of students learning, social, emotional and behavioural development. Your role as a school-based Psychoeducational Consultant requires you to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, creativity, flexibility, and commitment in order to improve the lives and educational outcomes for students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited University
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to provide psychological services for children and adolescents
Experience working as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team
Familiarity with mental health, special needs, and programming
Reliable transportation and willingness to work within all areas of Halton

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Registration or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
Experience working in a school board setting
Experience working with students, including at risk students, parents, educators and other school-based staff
Proficiency in data management, analysis, reporting and presenting results
Experience supporting individuals from a variety of lived experiences (socio-economic, cultural, etc.,)
Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group
Broad understanding of and an inclusive approach to relationship building with diverse stakeholders in the community and in schools

Responsibilities:

Engaging members of the school team with implementing evidence-based, evidence-informed interventions for students
Providing psychoeducational assessments including cognitive, academic and social/emotional testing
Providing consultations, for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, in regular classes and special education class settings
Providing professional development for others in the school and Board-wide as required
Being involved in preventative programs and other local and regional initiatives as they are developed
Working as a member of a school multidisciplinary team
Managing a busy student caseload and meeting schedule
