Description:

Band 6 midwife- Psychological Wellbeing Midwife
Full Time- 12 months Fixed Term, cross site (Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated midwife who is passionate about supporting the psychological wellbeing of other people. You will need to be comfortable leading groups and sharing information about emotional wellbeing, resources, tools and techniques, both virtually and face to face. We are looking for someone with some understanding of the self-help field and the ability to connect with and hold space for groups of different people.
This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting new pilot which, if successful, we hope will become an on-going service. It will be supported by colleagues from Maternal Mental Health Service and NHS Talking Therapies, with whom you will be developing the course and groups, alongside the Lead Midwife for Mental Health. We would like to get up and running as soon as possible so you should to be prepared to jump right in!
We are looking for someone with the ability to use technology, who is organised, IT literate and as excited about this opportunity as we are.
To plan, prepare and run psychological and emotional wellbeing groups for pregnant people and their partners booked with HHFT.
To engage with women accessing the service to ensure their engagement and that they are supported.
To liaise with other local services who provide mental health support, to maximise support for group members and facilitate input into the sessions.
To work with the Lead Midwife for PNMH to promote the service as appropriate.
To work closely with members of the Maternity and Mental Health MDT’s, including, but not exclusively, the Mental Health Midwives, community midwives and local mental health services to ensure the groups offered are an effective part of the wider offering around psychological wellbeing.
To ensure effective communication and liaison with others providing mental health and maternity services, liaising with named healthcare professionals as required.
Through collating data and auditing the service, the psychological Wellbeing Midwife will continuously assess and monitor the impact of the groups through feedback forms and psychological wellbeing assessments, reporting findings both verbally and written.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.
We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors.
