* FULL-TIME PERMANENT ROLE

Our client provides support to over 15,000 people annually through both residential and community based services for children, youth, adults and families across the Central Coast, Hunter and Mid-North Coast regions. Due to growth we are currently seeking a Psychologist to join their team.
Within this role you will be responsible for providing assessment and intervention for individuals who may have a developmental delay or disability. The Psychologist will focus on building the capacity, skills and knowledge of the person and their families, and mainstream services.

THE ROLE:

  • To work as a member of the team to ensure that the optimal outcomes are achieved for clients
  • Engage with families using a family centred approach
  • Conduct appropriate psychological assessments and therapy in accordance with evidence based practice models
  • Deliver/perform therapeutic interventions in line with clinical governance frameworks including having an understanding of emotional, social and behavioural issues that can arise for children or adults with complex conditions/presentations
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Develop realistic measurable goals and priorities for intervention in collaboration with the client, Family and Team supporting the client
  • Adapt programs to display an understanding of individuals who are experiencing or have experienced complex stress or trauma
  • Liaise with relevant service providers and agencies around service provision to clients
  • Demonstrate competency in evaluation of intervention and clinical outcomes
  • Participate in the development and review of an Individual Family Support Plans (IFSPs) as needed, in conjunction with the wider team, including the SEICT Team and Partner Agencies.
  • Maintain individual and staff professional standards of clinical practice through clinical supervision, continuing professional education and regular performance appraisal
  • Make “risk of significant harm’ reports to the Community Services Helpline when deemed necessary
  • Participate proactively in line management and clinical supervision
  • Maintain accurate client case files and other relevant documentation
  • Accurately record statistical data as required by the organisation and funding bodies
  • Assist in the development of documented policies and procedures relating to Psychology and Allied Health
  • Provide updates to other agencies supporting the client as required
