ABOUT US

East Bentleigh CCU provides community residential psychosocial rehabilitation to consumers (25-65 years old) who have a serious mental illness and associated psychosocial impairment. East Bentleigh CCU provides a home-like environment where consumers can continue their recovery from mental illness and develop their skill and capacity for independent living in order to facilitate a transition to the community. East Bentleigh CCU offers an initial four residential assessment that may be followed by a medium term psychosocial rehabilitation program based on individual needs. Referral sources predominately include Monash Health community mental health teams (CCTs and MSTTs), adult acute inpatient psychiatric units, and the secure extended care unit (SECU).

Responsibilities:

The psychologist in the service works with a multi-disciplinary team to provide individualised programs of treatment, support and psychosocial rehabilitation to consumers. The psychologist is responsible for providing evidence-based, best practice psychological assessment and intervention to promote engagement, improved wellbeing and safety, and enhanced psychosocial functioning. Psycho-education and psychological interventions may be provided on an individual and/or group basis. Ongoing, regular psychology supervision, involvement in continuing professional development events and other development opportunities form part of this exciting role.

  • Psychologist Grade 3 - opportunity for a senior psychologist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team working in a psychosocial recovery environment. Experienced Grade 2 (P2) Psychologists will also be considered for this position.
