About the RACGP
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is the voice of general practitioners (GPs) in our growing cities and throughout rural and remote Australia. For more than 60 years, we’ve supported the backbone of Australia’s health system by setting the standards for education and practice and advocating for better health and wellbeing for all Australians.
We foster the future of general practice through our profession-led, community-based training model for the Australian General Practice Training Program and other training pathways. We train GPs to deliver quality, whole-person care to patients across Australia, support their ongoing professional development and provide a point of connection for GPs serving communities in every corner of the country.
We’re committed to diversity and social inclusion and encourage applications from people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, people with disability and people from culturally diverse backgrounds. If you require any support or adjustments to participate in any stage of our recruitment process, please let us know in your application.
About you
As our Publications Manager, you’ll have significant editing experience, preferably in a healthcare, medical or scientific environment, with the ability to determine quality, evidence-based sources and their use to support clinical decision-making. Your exceptional oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, along with you highly developed interpersonal skills, will ensure you can effectively liaise and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to meet content and production deadlines.

Responsibilities:

an undergraduate degree in communications, editing or a related field with extensive experience managing production and editorial processes for multiple titles, and medical editing experience as an editor in a scholarly publishing environment
demonstrated knowledge and experience with permissions and copyright

business level skills in Microsoft Office applications, with knowledge of publishing software
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Commercial, you’ll lead a team of high performing editors to provide editorial support to the RACGP in the production of the Australian Journal of General Practice (AJGP), check, standards, guidelines and other member resources. You’ll oversee the strategic development and planning of content, ensuring the timely production of these publications to specified timelines and in line with correct policy and procedure, brand voice and house style, while editing to a high standard.
