Description:
Freight Purchase Ledger Clerk
Do you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy ensuring financial accuracy? Are you passionate about the logistics industry? If so, then a Freight Purchase Ledger Clerk role could be perfect for you!
In this critical role, you will be responsible for processing and maintaining the financial records of our freight purchases. You will play a vital role in ensuring our accounts are accurate and up-to-date, contributing to the smooth operation of our company’s finances.
Responsibilities:
Process freight invoices from vendors and carriers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts.
Research and resolve any discrepancies with invoices.
Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to clarify invoice details.
Input invoice data into our accounting system.
Maintain accurate records of freight purchases.
Reconcile bank statements to ensure all payments are accounted for.
Prepare reports on freight expenditure.
Assist with other accounts payable tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential).
Experience in a purchase ledger role or similar financial function (essential)
Understanding of basic accounting principles (preferred).
Experience within the freight and logistics industry (essential).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently.
