Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

Purchasing agents are responsible for ordering products from vendors worldwide. You must continually communicate with these vendors to ensure the material we need is available and will ship to our distribution centers on time. All orders require follow up and monitoring until they have reached our distribution centers and have been checked for accuracy and inspected for quality. If any issues arise you are responsible for communicating the issue to the appropriate product manager and contacting the vendor to remedy the issue through a credit or new shipment and obtain a vendor credit. If product issues arise on a jobsite, you are responsible for working with our product warranty department to submit proper documentation and obtain a vendor credit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • 2 Years’ of prior purchasing experience
  • High level knowledge of Excel- formulas, macros, programming, and pivot tables
  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to follow through, make calls to vendors, and timely complete tasks
  • High level of accuracy with a close attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive-willing to take the extra step!
  • Possess a flexible work schedule to accommodate communication with vendors in different time zones

Responsibilities:

  • Order products
  • Call and email vendors on product availability, production schedules, PO statuses, and receiving
  • Manage inventory overstock and under stock
  • Follow up on back-ordered items to ensure timely delivery
  • Follow material from vendor to receiving dock
  • Assist product managers with products, pricing, ordering, and product issues
  • Communicate product information and arrivals to branches
  • Communicate with warehouse receiving team about incoming containers and product inspections
  • Multitask and prioritize work through effective time management
  • Work within the framework of the company’s defined policies, procedures, goals and directives.
  • Promptly respond to employee emails from item codes alias
  • Any other duties required of the position
