Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry, based in Orlando, Florida. This role focuses on managing purchasing activities, overseeing buying processes, and handling purchase orders within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing activities and ensure the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
- Utilize purchasing software and Microsoft Excel to maintain and update records of orders and deliveries
- Resolve issues related to larger orders and communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams
- Implement buying processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency
- Use advanced problem-solving skills to address and resolve any issues related to purchase orders
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail when reviewing and approving orders
- Ensure compliance with the company’s purchasing policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the sales team to fill custom orders accurately and efficiently
- Continuously improve purchasing strategies to ensure the organization’s long-term success.
- Must possess strong skills in Microsoft Excel
- Proven experience as a Buyer in the wholesale distribution industry
- Familiarity with buying processes and purchasing activities
- Experience with purchase order creation and management
- Knowledge and use of purchasing software is required
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field is preferred.
