Description:

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry, based in Orlando, Florida. This role focuses on managing purchasing activities, overseeing buying processes, and handling purchase orders within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchasing activities and ensure the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
  • Utilize purchasing software and Microsoft Excel to maintain and update records of orders and deliveries
  • Resolve issues related to larger orders and communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams
  • Implement buying processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Use advanced problem-solving skills to address and resolve any issues related to purchase orders
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail when reviewing and approving orders
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s purchasing policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the sales team to fill custom orders accurately and efficiently
  • Continuously improve purchasing strategies to ensure the organization’s long-term success.
  • Must possess strong skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Proven experience as a Buyer in the wholesale distribution industry
  • Familiarity with buying processes and purchasing activities
  • Experience with purchase order creation and management
  • Knowledge and use of purchasing software is required
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field is preferred.
