Description:

SUMMARY

The Purchasing Associate will support the associated category Purchasing Manager by managing requests for materials, preparing purchase orders, tracking purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about orders. They gather information, and cost to initiate purchase orders for procurement of materials and services. Additional duties include managing new vendor, and credit requests.
Full Time: 40 hours week
Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

EDUCATION

High School diploma, GED/HSED, or equivalent is required. Associate’s Degree in related field is preferred. College experience/credits in accounting/business

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1-2 years of recent office experience with customer service, purchasing, clerical work or in a similar capacity is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and adaptable to learn basic floor plan design and other software as needed.Proficient in use of Excel.Adaptable to a variety of job demands.Must possess excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and over the phone.Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team. Ability to demonstrate leadership by serving as an example to others with regard to professional behavior, handling multiple tasks, maintaining a positive attitude, and in response to organizational change.Ability to use time productively and contributes to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.Ability to operate standard office equipment.Ability to respond positively to constructive criticism and direction from supervisors. Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times. Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Liaises with internal legal department as neededProvides support for ad-hoc projects and other needs
  • Data GatheringTracks spend in category
  • Tracks cost savings in assigned areas
  • Provide support for purchasing data
  • Disseminates data to internal customers to external customers as required
