We are currently seeking a self-motivated purchasing professional to join a dynamic team as part of a leading provider of scientific instrumentation. This growing, family-owned Munich-based business is looking for someone who will play a vital part in procuring components and materials, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions used in the global biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the senior management team, this person will be solely responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the company’s procurement and logistics processes. This individual will manage the purchase of materials, coordinating with suppliers, optimising inventory levels, and overseeing the movement of parts and materials through the business. This position would suit someone who is currently in a technical or operational, buying or purchasing position who wants to take on more responsibility as part of an exciting, growing business

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field would be favourable
• Proven 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying roles, preferably in a technical manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Proficiency in inventory management software (SAP Business One) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy and quality in all work.

• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers across Europe, the USA and Asia to ensure favourable pricing and service agreements.
• Purchasing and procurement of mechanical, electrical, plastics and metal components
• Regularly evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery speed.
• Create and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies that arise.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and sales demands while minimizing carrying costs.
• Manage inventory control measures to track stock levels, reorder points, and inventory turnover.
• Track shipments and resolve any delivery issues or delays proactively.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and logistics activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate closely with other departments, such as production and sales to align purchasing and logistics activities with organisational objectives.
