JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a hands on dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team in Pickering. The Purchasing Manager is a supply chain and logistics professional specializing in ensuring the cost effective purchase of all non-aluminum consumables & supplies required by the casting, extrusion and fabrication operations teams. Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality programs is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration, economics or supply chain management
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic procurement as a Purchasing Manager or Agent with a track record of successful negotiations and cost savings.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • ISO 9001 or similar quality programs is an asset
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to increased organizational profit margins through focused cost management. Avoid supply disruptions by ensuring vendors provide reliable deliveries and quality materials. Anticipate and assess procurement risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Establish, nurture and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key vendors. Continuously improve the organization’s procurement processes.
